enjoying the cold…and enjoying the warm

It’s been a cold start to the school holidays!

We bundled up in hats and scarves and mittens, and ventured out to take some photos of the thick frost we had one morning.  If only it was cold enough to snow!

Despite the cold, we’ve still had so much fun this week!  Lots of time with friends, lots of good books, lots of cubby-house building…

(I know the quality of this photo is terrible – I’ve zoomed in a long way – but, awww…cute brothers!)  Hope you’re enjoying the school holidays too!

  1. Great pictures!! We've been back at school for a couple of weeks now, where did the holidays go? Question: we are planning a family holiday of Tas, when, in your opinion, is a good month to visit? Up to 4weeks we are happy to spend. Remember we are Qlders, so we've already ruled out winter! :-)

    1. There must be a different 'holiday time zone'...they always fly by so much faster than school term times! How lovely that you're planning a trip to Tassie - we'll have to meet up if you come to Launceston! Probably wise not to come in winter unless you're after the snow. My favourite season is spring, when everything is blooming and green after winter and the weather's warming up - around October? But summer and autumn both have good things about them - the autumn leaves are stunning, and our summers are very under-rated! But if you come in January/February, bring lots of sunscreen and hats because the heat is very different to Qld heat; you'll burn much faster here even though the temps might look lower. It's great you're allowing plenty of time to visit - there's a lot to see and do, especially for families. E-mail me if I can be any more help!

    2. Thanks heaps Amy. I will be sure to email you to help refine our choices, once we are more decided. Just starting to look into things, and I want to see EVERYTHING! Haha. People have told us because Tassie is small, we don't need much time, but what we've been looking at, we just don't see how 4 weeks will even be enough. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. You confirmed what I was thinking, Spring would be a good split between all seasons. Thanks again, will be in touch.
